This is the easiest, quickest way we've found to turn those kitchen scraps into useful garden compost full of organic, nitrogen rich fertilizer. The manufacturer says it can be used inside as well as outside, however our experience indicates it works best outside.
The automatice composter acutally makes compost that works with your soil. The composter takes about 2-3 weeks to acclimate to your soil conditions. Balance the chemistry by adding a small amount of sawdust to increase "brown" content, and baking soda to reduce acidity (both are included). A fan draws air into the machine continuously, providing oxygen to the cultures. A powerful carbon filter removes any lingering odors (we have found there may be some strong odors during the first cycle). However once it goes through a full cycle or two, the odors disappear and the unit just cranks out great compost for your garden.
